How Long Does a Florida Personal Injury Case Usually Take From Start to Finish?

Some personal injury cases can be resolved in a few months, while some cases can take a year or more. The length of treatment and/or the time it takes to recover from an injury will often dictate how long it takes to resolve a personal injury case. Serious injury cases requiring multiple surgeries or extended rehabilitation will take much longer. Generally, to prepare a case for settlement, we need to know the extent of the permanent injury, as well as, all of the expenses that will be incurred in the treatment of that injury. It is only at that point, where we can get a true picture as to the extent of the damages incurred.

For cases involving less serious injuries, where treatment is completed in as few as 3 months, often a settlement can be reached within 6 months of the accident date. These are generally cases with injuries that do not involve surgery, scarring, or fractures.
