My rubber soled sneakers caught on Whole Foods marble floor and I went down on my left side. However, I did not break anything, as far as I know. I have the usual pain and soreness one would expect in a fall to the hard surfaced floor. Therefore, since I am very strong and able to get around, no harm no foul?

I slipped and fell by salad bar at Whole Foods. It was due to oil or something on the floor. I feel in front of two employees. I was not able to block my fall with hands because I had coffee in one hand and bag in the other. Team lead took my name and number brief statements. She also saw the wet area. I fell directly on my hip really hard. I am experiencing hip and pelvic pain. It happen August 18 @ 7:10 am. Thank you

Hi
I fell at Whole Foods Market in Oakland, CA today right in front of the registers. After I had completed payment , I turned around and started walking away from the register. 3 steps in, I slipped. It happened so fast I couldn’t even break my fall. I slipped on oil. I think someone asked what happened, and I pointed to the oil on the floor. Employees rushed to the scene, and immediately cleaned the oil from the floor, asked if I was okay and started working the registers again. There was no incident report filed. I wiped the bottom of my shoe with a towel, and left very embarrassed because it was right in front of a line of people. My R ankle felt tender, but okay enough for me to walk on . It’s been around 8 hours since the fall, and my R ankle is becoming worse. Although I am still able to walk on it, i cannot dorsiflex or plantarflex to my normal range without pain.

Hi Eunice,

Sorry to hear about what happened to you at the Whole Foods. Were you able to determine how the oil got on the floor or where it came from? Have you since notified Whole Foods that you were injured in their store? Do you know if they have your fall on surveillance? Do you know of any witnesses to your fall? Have you been diagnosed by a doctor with a specific ankle injury? Please feel free to call us so that we can let you know how we may be able to help.
