Commercial Truck Accident Victim Receives $650,000

Our client, a thirty nine year old mother of three children, was driving to her Miami Florida home after a long day at work. Suddenly and without warning, the defendant ran a stop sign and T-boned our client on the driver’s side of the car. Our client was in severe pain and unable to get out of the car on her own. Paramedics arrived and carefully removed our client from the vehicle and rushed her to the emergency room where she was examined, treated, and admitted overnight.

After being released from the hospital, our client began a course of treatment and physical therapy to treat her severe back injury. A subsequent MRI revealed that our client suffered a large paracentral herniated disc at L4-L5, with an annular tear. As a result of this herniated disc, our client had to undergo a lumbar laminectomy, causing her to be hospitalized for five days.

After her surgery and another short course of physical therapy, the Miami Personal Injury Attorneys of Dell & Schaefer filed a lawsuit against the owner of the truck that caused this accident alleging that he operated the vehicle in a careless and negligent manner, causing pain and suffering, medical expenses, and lost wages. Prior to trial, the defendant insurance company agreed to settle the case for $650,000.00 (six hundred and fifty thousand dollars).
