27 year old woman fractures 2 fingers in Boca Raton accident; settles for $100,000.00 policy limit
Author: Attorney Jay Kanter
Our client is a 27 year old woman who was a passenger in her husband’s car when she was injured as a result of an accident. The defendant driver failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign and broadsided my clients vehicle on the passenger door where she was sitting. Following the accident, my client was transported by ambulance to the emergency room at Boca Regional Medical Center where she was x-rayed and treated, before being released. The x-rays revealed 2 fractured fingers and our client was advised to follow up with an orthopedic surgeon.
Subsequently, our client sought treatment with an orthopedic surgeon, who performed a metacarpal rotational osteotomy with open reduction and internal fixation. Following surgery, our client had physical therapy for 4 weeks. The therapy allowed our client to regain mobility and proper use of her hand. At the conclusion of her therapy, all medical records and bills were presented to the insurance company for the at-fault driver with a demand for the $100,000.00 policy limit. The policy limit was tendered within 20 days.
