Client Gets Into An Automobile Accident
Our client, a middle aged married man with three children, was driving his car with his entire family in the downtown area of Miami when suddenly and without warning another car ran a red light and struck my client on the driver’s side door. The impact was not that hard but because it was a direct impact with the driver’s side door, our client suffered whiplash, neck, and back injuries. Fortunately the rest of his family was unhurt. Immediately after the accident our client called the police. The police cited the other driver with running a red light. Thinking the pain would subside our client drove home and went to sleep.
Client Undergoes Treatment
The next morning our client had a very rude awakening. His entire neck and back was stiff and sore. He couldn’t get out of bed and needed help just to sit up. Knowing something was wrong and not knowing what else to do, he called the Brickell Attorneys Dell and Schaefer. Our firm quickly took the case and began the process of zealously representing his interests. Our client immediately sought the care and medical attention of a local chiropractor. After weeks of treatment with no relief from pain, our client saw an orthopedic surgeon. The orthopedic surgeon took one look at the MRI report and knew immediately that our client needed to undergo surgery. The surgery was performed within a week of the first orthopedic visit. It was finally at that time that our client felt real relief from pain.
Dell and Schaefer Negotiate A Settlement
After the surgery our firm filed a bodily injury claim against the insurance company. We sought monetary damages for bodily injury, pain and suffering, aggravation of a preexisting condition, loss of consortium, disfigurement, disability, mental anguish, property damage, past and future medical expenses, lost wages, and impairment of ability to earn future wages. After a lengthy negotiation, the case settled for the policy limits of $100,000.
