Client Slips and Falls At The Entrance Of The Supermarket

Our client, a handicapped woman in her mid-thirties, was minding her business as she entered into a local supermarket similar to Publix and Winn Dixie. As soon as she entered past the automatic glass front doors, suddenly and without warning she slipped and fell on water on the floor. Apparently rain water had leaked in earlier but the supermarket didn’t properly place warning signs on the floor. The supermarket placed wet floor signs approximately 25 feet away from the entrance inside the store, but failed to place warning signs near the entrance as well. As a result, any unsuspecting customer would believe the water danger was near the wet floor sign only and not near the entrance. Our firm quickly took the case and began the process of zealously representing her interests.

Client Undergoes Physical Therapy

Our client was not seriously injured, however she did suffer whiplash and a sprain/strain to her neck and back. She started treating at a local chiropractor’s office where she underwent an intense physical therapy regimen. The therapy included spinal manipulation, therapeutic exercise, therapeutic stretches, traction, soft tissue manual therapy, physical therapy modalities, ultrasound and ice/heat therapy. After several weeks of treatment our client underwent an MRI which showed a herniated disc to the lower back. After conservative care failed to give long term relief, our client underwent epidural injections with a local orthopedic office.

Dell & Schaefer Negotiate A Settlement

Immediately after treatment ended our firm filed a bodily injury demand with the insurance company. Our firm sought damages for bodily injuries, aggravation of a preexisting condition, pain and suffering, loss of consortium, disfigurement, disability, mental anguish, lost wages, and inability to earn future wages. After a lengthy negotiation, our firm settled the case for $75,000. Call us for a free consultation. We do not charge a cost or fee unless we recover money for you.
