Florida Injury Attorney: Nassau County Truck Accident Kills One

A truck driver was killed in a Nassau County truck accident on December 18 on U.S. 31 that involved several vehicles. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the truck driver was stopped in his Freightliner in a line of vehicles heading northbound on the highway when a loaded log truck hit him from behind. The Freightliner driver was killed in the accident, and the driver of the log truck suffered serious injuries.

The rear-end collision set off a chain reaction involving five more vehicles. The victim’s Freightliner drove into a tractor-trailer in front of him, which hit a car in front of it, which then hit the rear of an SUV, who then hit another car. The final car was pushed into another lane where it hit the front of a semi-truck. Only minor injuries were reported from others involved in the accident.

At the time of this report, it is unclear why the log truck struck the back of the Freightliner, and no charges have been filed.
