Florida Injury Lawyer: Volusia Truck Accident Kills Motorcyclist
A motorcyclist was killed on November 7 in a Volusia truck accident. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 34-year-old semi-truck driver was heading through the intersection of Old Daytona Road and Newport Avenue and attempted to make a left turn. He failed to notice a motorcycle approaching him from the left.
The 37-year-old motorcyclist collided with the truck and was pushed underneath it. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead on the scene. The truck driver and his passenger were not injured in the accident. An investigation is still ongoing.
Commercial trucks may have limited visibility due to their large size, which is why they must strictly follow the rules of the road and take proper precautions when heading through intersections. Motorcycles are often blamed for accidents, but in reality, other drivers do not pay enough attention to their small size and single headlight. Motorcycles are often ignored on the road, especially by large trucks.
Negligent truck drivers that cause fatal truck accidents deserve to be held accountable for their actions. When a loved one is killed in a Florida truck accident, families may be left with significant financial hardships.
