Hollywood, Florida man injured when the urinal divider fell off the wall in the restroom at the Mardi Gras Casino, resulting in knee surgery

Our client, a 45 year old man form Hollywood, Florida was at the Mardi Gras Casino in Hallandale Beach, Florida, when the urinal divider fell off the wall, striking him and knocking him to the ground. As a result of the accident, our client received an injury to his knee. There were no witnesses to the accident; however, our client did complain at the scene and fire rescue was called.

The following day, our client sought chiropractic treatment for his knee, back, and neck. He had an MRI of the knee which revealed some meniscus damage. He was then referred to an orthopedic surgeon. After lengthy treatment, it was determined that surgery would be necessary. Arthroscopic surgery was performed, during which the meniscus was surgically repaired.

Our client contacted Dell & Schaefer to represent him against the casino. The casino initially did not take the claim seriously due to the manner in which the injury was sustained. It was therefore necessary to file a lawsuit against the casino. Our litigation team aggressively pursued the claim, taking numerous depositions of employees, and was ultimately able to convince the defendant of the serious nature of the injuries and that the accident was the casino’s fault, despite the unusual manner in which it occurred. After extensive negotiations, we were able to obtain a settlement of $80,000 for our client. Contact us for a free consultation to discuss your injury claim.
