Nationwide Recall Announced for RegenErect Due to Potential Health Risks

RegenErect RecallOn February 24, 2012, Regeneca, Inc. announced that it was voluntarily recalling all of its single capsule packets of RegenErect, which is labeled as a dietary supplement. RegenErect, packaged as an individual blue capsule, is described on the company website as a “drug-free blend of natural, herbal ingredients that enhance and support sexual experience.” Yet, according to an independent lab analysis, there are traces of Tadalafil, which is an FDA-approved drug used to treat male Erectile Dysfunction (ED). Thus, since Tadalafil is not listed as an active ingredient, RegenErect is considered an unapproved new drug.

The danger posed with Tadalafil is that it may interact with nitrates found in prescription drugs. The nitrates work to reduce blood pressure to dangerous low levels. This poses great danger to consumers suffering from diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease or high cholesterol that often take nitrates to combat ED, a common side effect of these conditions.
