Client Gets Into An Accident
Our client, a 25 year old recent college graduate, was riding in a ride sharing taxi service such as Uber or Lyft in Miami, Florida. Suddenly and without warning, another vehicle spun out of control and struck the car our client was riding in. The impact was so severe that our client’s vehicle spun around 360 degrees and drove up on the curb. In addition, the tortfeasor proceeded to strike three more cars and a telephone pole causing over $50,000 in property damage. Not knowing what to do, our client called the Taxi Attorneys Dell and Schaefer to the rescue. Our firm quickly took the case and began the process of zealously representing our client’s interests.
Client Undergoes Treatment
Surprisingly our client was not very hurt. He had a slightly sore neck but the pain mostly subsided after a few days. However he decided to undergo treatment with a local chiropractor in order to avoid having any relapses in pain later on in life. The chiropractor placed our client on an intense physical therapy regimen.
Dell and Schaefer Negotiate A Settlement
After our client got a few backrubs and adjustments from the chiropractor, our client was back to health. Our firm then filed a bodily injury demand letter against the Uber/Lyft style taxi and ride sharing service. We sought monetary damages for bodily injury, pain and suffering, aggravation of a preexisting condition, pain and suffering, loss of consortium, disfigurement, disability, mental anguish, property damage, past and future medical expenses, lost wages, and impairment of ability to earn future wages. After a lengthy negotiation, the case resolved for $30,000.
