Taxi cab automobile accident case settles for $50,000 with only soft tissue injuries

Taxi Cab Strikes Our Client
Our client, a young recent college graduate, was driving to her first job post school. She was stopped at an intersection waiting to turn left, when a taxi heading in the opposite direction lost control and swerved into her lane causing a head on collision. The impact was so great that my client’s air bags deployed and her car was violently thrown in reverse. Her car then struck the car directly behind her. It is also interesting to note that after striking our client’s vehicle head on, the taxi continued spiraling out of control, spun around 180 degrees before stopping due to the curb. It was an accident of mystic proportions.
Client Undergoes Treatment
Because of the heavy impact, my client immediately felt pain in her neck and back. She sought the care of a local chiropractor who placed her on and administered an intense physical therapy regimen. After several weeks of therapy our client did feel relief from pain and it was not necessary to undergo any surgery or injections. She referred to the chiropractor as Dr. Magic Hands who had healed her back (pun intended) from the brink of disaster.
Dell and Schaefer Negotiate A Settlement
After the treatment was over, our firm filed a bodily injury demand against the insurance company. Our firm sought monetary compensation for bodily injury, pain and suffering, aggravation of a preexisting injury, loss of consortium, disfigurement, disability, mental anguish, property damage, past and future medical expenses, lost wages, and impairment of ability to earn future wages. At first the insurance company only offered $20,000. Since the policy limits were $50,000, our firm showed the insurance adjuster the photos from the accident scene showing the carnage and wreckage that ensued as a result of their insured. Without hesitation, the insurance company immediately hand delivered a check for the $50,000 policy limits.
