Tesla says you are less likely to get injured in a Model 3

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) 37,461 people were killed in 34,436 motor vehicle crashes in the year 2016, which is the last year that data has been analyzed. In that year, there was an average of 102 deaths per day. Crash related deaths were on the decline previous to the year 2015 but unfortunately have been increasing since. While NHTSA cites no specific reason for the increase, anyone who has driven lately can probably point to at least a few reasons for the increase. One big reason is that many drivers appear to be distracted by their smartphones and devices while driving. Their inattention is leading to an extreme amount of Wrongful Death.
Tesla claims that Model 3 occupants have less than a 6% chance of suffering a serious injury during a collision and that the Model 3 gives occupants the lowest probability of receiving a serious injury in a crash than any other vehicle tested by NHTSA. Tesla also points out that the Model 3 has achieved a perfect 5-star rating in every category and sub-category of the crash ratings.
Why is Tesla safer? Not only is the vehicle built with a “strong, rigid passenger compartment” but the technology in a Tesla proves to help make it safer. Tesla has thought this out very well. They have made sure the Model 3 has 50/50 weight distribution and a low center of gravity, making it more stable on the road and less likely to lose control. They have also attempted to place all of the vehicle’s weight closer to the middle of the vehicle, which provides a greater internal foundation. By placing lighter components further to the outer areas of the vehicle, they have increased the outer energy absorption of the vehicle, allowing the vehicle to absorb most of the energy and sparing the vehicle’s passengers of that impact.
The takeaway here is that the roads are becoming more dangerous but the newer vehicles being produced are becoming safer. The hope is that the increase in vehicle safety will lead to a decrease in vehicle deaths. Because Wrongful Death resulting from vehicle crashes is becoming more common, more and more families are being destroyed as a result. More children are forced to live without the love and support of both parents. More parents are suffering as the result of the death of a child. Anything that can be done to stop these atrocities from occurring is a plus for the world and the fact that an American company is getting it done is a major plus for the United States.
