Three Injured in Sun City Center Motorcycle Accident

Three motorcyclists were injured in a Sun City Center motorcycle accident after a woman lost control of her vehicle this July. The woman was driving a Nissan Sentra when she attempted to change lanes and noticed three motorcyclists, one after another, in the lane.

The driver attempted to avoid hitting the motorcyclists but she overcorrected and lost control of the car. The Nissan struck two of the motorcyclists and the other bike hit the rear of the vehicle.

The motorcyclists were taken to Blake Medical Center with serious injuries. The driver of the Nissan was uninjured and ticketed for careless driving, according to The Tampa Tribune.

Motorcycles are often overlooked on the road due to their smaller size. Negligent or reckless motorists are often the cause of Florida motorcycle accidents, though motorcycles are commonly blamed for either speeding or reckless driving. More than 9,000 motorcycle accidents occur in Florida every year, many of which require hospital or outpatient care due to serious injury.

The growing population in Florida along with the growing popularity of motorcycles increases the risks for Florida motorcycle accidents to occur.
