An Orlando truck accident injured three people and shut down Interstate 4 on January 24 when a lumber truck driver lost control of his vehicle. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the truck was heading westbound on the highway when he lost control of his vehicle and struck the center concrete barrier, spilling his load of lumber onto the road. Three cars crashed while attempting to avoid the lumber falling from the truck. One car rolled several times, causing injuries to the two people inside. An ambulance was also hit by another vehicle when it arrived on the scene, injuring the driver that hit the emergency vehicle. All three victims were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. Troopers reported that cleanup of the highway took seven hours. The truck driver was ticketed for careless driving.
