What other damages am I entitled to when I get hit by a car while riding a bicycle in Florida?
You are entitled to compensation for all out of pocket medical expenses, together with damages for all injuries, pain and suffering, scarring, disfigurement, and any disability you suffer as a result of your accident. Additionally, you can collect for wage loss and any other economic damages. In all cases, when you are a bicyclist or pedestrian hit by any motor vehicle, you will also be entitled to the no fault (or PIP) benefits under your auto insurance policy. If you do not own a car or reside with a resident relative who owns a car, you will be entitled to the PIP benefits from the vehicle that hit you. These benefits are available regardless of who causes the accident. Any medical bills or lost wages that are not covered by the no-fault coverage will be part of your damage claim against the at fault party.
