Who pays for hospital and other medical bills if I get hit by a car while riding a bike in Florida?

Under Florida law, your own auto insurance company is required to pay 80% of the first $10,000.00 of medical bills, regardless of fault, even though your vehicle was not involved in the accident.

Medical bills not covered under your Personal Injury Protection (PIP) will be part of your damage claim against the at fault party.
